If you are in the La Crosse, WI area, there is currently a wonderful bookarts exhibit at the gallery in the Art Center at UW-La Crosse. Jody Williams displays some of her books and many books from her collection. It will be up through Oct. 10. Go see it if you can.

Open Meander Book

This book is a carefully printed and cut 8 1/2 X 11 inch piece of paper. It is cut in a meander pattern. The above picture shows it all opened out. It can be read page by page, as a common book. When it is closed, as seen below, it fits in the palm of your hand. It's a good little item to slip into your pocket and use for meditation when ever you feel the need. Many people contributed words when my aunt asked, "What one word do you think will be important in the 21st Century?" I arranged them into this little book for contemplation. Some words included: peace, communication, multicultural, balance, listen, change, diplomacy.

This mini-book is a collaboration between my aunt and me.

It's pretty clear I am new at this. What I plan to include is information about the books I make and projects I am working on. Let's see if I can get a picture on here . . .
